China is emerging as a major global hub for medical education as it boasts of more than 630 higher learning institutions from the stream with 1.76 million students, including thousands from India
There are 1.76 million students studying at medical institutes nationwide at present. China has been emerging as a major centre for medical education attracting students from abroad in recent years.
According to official figures over 8,000 Indian students enrolled to study Medicine in China in 2010. This year the numbers were expected to go up by few hundreds. The reason according to Indian officials was that it costs lot cheaper to study in China compared to private medical colleges in India and the facilities were also lot better.
Considering the growing popularity in India, a number of Chinese medical schools have recruited Indian and Nepalese medical professors to teach in their institutions.
The Chinese Health Ministry said it had set up a multilevel medical education that offers diploma courses ranging from bachelor's to postdoctoral studies as well as part-time classes for medical workers, thanks to decades-long reforms in the field.

The medical universities we offer are public universities under the supervision of the Chinese Government. All are listed in the World Health Organisation (WHO)'s "Directory of World Medical Schools". This listing means that graduates are eligible to attend national medical screening tests such as MCI, PMDC, USMLE, PLAB, HPCSA, SCHS, etc.

Most of China's medical universities are ranked among the top 500 universities in the world and highly reputed for being at the forefront of the field of modern medicine. Moreover, English-medium MBBS programs have been taught for years, and there are now lots of graduates pursuing a further education in China or being a doctor in their own country. The approved universities that enroll international students for the undergraduate medical program in English in China shall have the authority to grant master's degree in Basic Medicine and Clinical Medicine (First-level Subjects), and the affiliated hospitals with Grade III, Level A. Therefore to some extend the labs and infrastructure are better than most of the governmental colleges in Asia, Africa and other countries. The faculty of the programs is mainly composed of Chinese teachers with doctor or master degrees, who major in Medicine and have experiences of studying or working abroad, and some foreign teachers from India, Nepal or Pakistan, who meet the international education standard.
MBBS in English language
The medium of program instruction is purely English. Most of the universities have a strong reputation and have taught MBBS in English for all 5 years. The medical degree awarded is valid throughout the world and eligible for Medical Council of India (MCI), Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS), Medical and Dental Professions Board, Health Professions Council of South Africa, the Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board (PLAB) in the UK, and the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) for Screening test conducted by the National Board of Examination under each country. Some universities will specially invite foreign experienced medical professionals to give a lecture or Doctor licensed examination preparation training. Majority of the graduates are india are working in several government hospitals as a licensed Doctor.
No entrance test required, easy admission
Compared with some universities or colleges in US, UK, Europe, even India., it is so easy to get admission by a top rank China's university to study MBBS. Furthermore, the entrance requirements for bachelor's medicine study in China are also much lower than any other countries. By choosing China, you can avoid the burden of fierce competition or heavy application pressure.
After 10+2 students have to appear for entrance test like AIPMT, CBSE or AFMC etc to get admission into about five-year graduate program of MBBS. These entrance tests are hard to clear and generally students end up taking two to four attempts to get through. As we all know that studying medicine in US or UK will be such honorable thing, but MBBS as the protective subject in US which is so difficult to get admission for international students. Only students who finish the four-year undergraduate program have the qualification to apply.

Studying towards an MBBS in China is 70% cheaper than undertaking a similar program in the US ,UK or india. The US MD program course (equivalent to MBBS) cost around USD 160,000-200,000. This excludes four years of Pre-med study. While a student can complete an MBBS course from any of the China's medical university list for 6 years for only USD 30,000 – 50,000. Compared to the rest of the world the fees charged for MBBS courses in China are expansively reasonable. The charges of tutoring in the universities in China are subsidized by the Ministry of Public Health of the Chinese Government.
